Buy OnePlus 2 Without Invite for tonight

Since its launch in August, the OnePlus 2 has been available in India via the company’s frustrating invite system. That is however going to change as OnePlus is getting rid of the need for invites for the OnePlus 2, starting at midnight tonight.

Starting at midnight, the OnePlus 2 will be available on Amazon India and Snapdeal without the buyer having to acquire an invite. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei made this announcement on the blog ahead of the company’s second anniversary on December 17.

“The invite system has been crucial to letting us scale our operations and has given our fans a unique way to share OnePlus with the people in their lives. But we are always trying to enhance the OnePlus experience for you and taking risks to push ourselves and show real improvements. That’s why we’re making the OnePlus 2 invite-free … forever!” Pei writes.

Pei also writes that the recently-launched OnePlus X will be available without invites between December 5 and December 7. But unfortunately, this is restricted to the global markets and won’t be applicable for India.

OnePlus 2 specifications and features: To recap, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage. Also included is 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS and laser autofocus, 5-megapixel selfie camera, fingerprint scanner and a 3,300mAh battery.

Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based Oxygen OS. Recent reports also suggest that the smartphone is set to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based CyanogenMod 13 ROM.
